The views of the Schuylkill from the Ben Franklin Bridge are unique. Starting from the Standard Tap we will meander through Northern Liberties and Center City to the Bridge. On the other side we will explore Rugters campus, visit the famous Johnson Library, and other historic landmarks before heading back. If we have time we will explore Northern Liberties and the new piazza. Those interested can eat brunch at the Standard Tap.

We will walk for 2.5-3.5 hours at a moderate pace.

To carpool from Hill House (201 W Evergreen, 19118) meet at 1015am. Here's a google map link.

    • “ Our first hike with this Meetup group was two years ago, when we met members at The Standard Tap & walked across the Ben Franklin Bridge to Camden, where we explored the area & discovered some of its historical (& impressive) buildings. Yesterday's (Dec 27) hike was a repeat of that, but even better, with more discoveries, & ample stops to admire the scenery & take photographs. A very enjoyable & fun hike. ”
    • “ This was a very scenic hike, in the urban sense. The views from the bridge were great, the weather was very good, and it was a little more leisurely than some other Sydney G. hikes. Standard Tap was a nice little bar, with pretty good parking around the area. ”

      “ About 22 folks headed off across the Ben Franklin Bridge to the metropolis of Camden. Congrats to Get Out Philly folks for 100% attendance. Weather was warm for this time of year, sunny, and not windy. Particularly wonderful because I was walking in 23 inches of snow last Sunday. ”
