The Bridlewild Trail system in Lower Merion which contains 35 miles of marked trails and probably double that number of unmarked trails is a real gem. The more we explore, the more beautiful and amazing things we find. Last time we found a Palace bigger than Versailles. Before we go for a hike we will help Peter Groves & Molly Love do trail work for 2 hours. Bring a pair of work gloves. And, I just found out that the trail work will be at Mill Creek Park, one of the only areas we have not explored. "We plan to build a set of stone steps on the Mill Creek Trail and we'll need strong arms as well as other helpers for general trail clean-up/maintenance. "
For Hike #5 we will explore another region not traveled in hikes 1 to 4. We will either explore a secret trail right along the Schuylkill that may go all the way to Manayunk or take a route similar to hike #4 when it rained all day. The area was really beautiful.
Meet at the Gladwyne Superfresh parking lot at 915am for the work party. Meet at noon for the hike. Park your car at far left after entering from Youngsford Rd. Bring work gloves. Here is a google map link: http://local.google.c...
To carpool from Hill House (201 W Evergreen, 19118) meet at 845am. Let me know. Here's a google map link. http://local.google.c...
Bring water and some food for the break between the work party and hike. Light hiking boots or trail running shoes are recommended for all hikes because we often walk on paved trails or the pavement.
I will collect the usual $1 donation at the hike. If you change your mind please change your RSVP. No-shows may be barred from future events. Email or call if you have a problem.
Sorry- we got lost and got to the grocery store at 12:25 and didn't see anyone, then we tried to find the park and asked around. We couldn't find it but "hiked" all around trying to find it. We waiting in the parking lot for a lil bit more to see if we could catch anyone coming back. Don't want you guys to think we no showed
“ About 16 folks attended the work party and hike: 6 for the work party, 12 for the hike.
We had a stupendous hike though a beautiful area. Rarely got lost. Thanks to all the nice people for joining us.
The president of Bridlewild Trails Assn wants me to thank each person in work party. ”

I will be there at noon for the hike!
Sadly, it seems the chances of seeing deer will be greatly reduced this time:
