Finally rescheduling the Green Lane Park #3 hike that was postponed due to bad weather. The third hike is in a totally different area than the first 2 hikes. This hike actually starts where hike #1 left off. If you have never been to Green Lane Park you will be in for a surprise: it's really nice. Much of the hike will be along a great body of water, Green Lane Reservoir. The trails go up and down, it's hilly, and around and lots of fun.
At first I thought the reservoir was so small that we could walk it in one hike. After some map work I found it's 50 plus miles of hiking. We are only walking for about 3.5-4.5 hours in one small part. The ranger told me this is the nicest area of the park. Remember daylight savings time: spring ahead, fall back. Turn you clock back an hour.
For Green Lane Hike #3 meet at the parking lot in this google map link(not the main address): http://local.google.c... To carpool from Hill House (201 W Evergreen, 19118) meet at 945am. Here's a google map link. http://local.google.c...
Bring plenty of water and some food. I drink 1 liter per hour in hot weather. Light hiking boots or trail running shoes are recommended for all hikes because we often walk on paved trails or the pavement.
I'll be collecting a one dollar donation at the hike. If you show up without an RSVP the charge is $2 or double the usual charge. All money goes to the group, none to the leader.
If you change your mind please change your RSVP. No-shows may be barred from my events. Email or call if you have a problem.
“ The before the carmel apple cheesecake part of the hike involved looking for trails that were not there. We bushwacked and followed several deer trails hoping the deer knew where they were going. The rest of the hike was on a super path that wound around the banks of Green Lake. Some fall colors were still visible.
Hikers were great sports and we all got home alive. ”
