Fernhill Park in Philadelphia was once a dump site that was cleaned up by neighborhood people. Today the park is beautiful. We are going to help out by planting trees, completing a mural and doing any other work that is needed. Get Out Philly will be only one of many groups attending. Another will be the Junior League who recruited about 50 young ladies last time.

Wear work clothes. Gloves and tools will be supplied. Coffee, pastries and other breakfast foods will be available. Last time they had Starbucks coffee and some real good pastries plus other breakfast foods. They also had a great lunch spread. Can't guarantee the lunch spread. No charge for this event.

For those interested in a hike after the work party, we can drive 1.5 miles to RittenhouseTown in the Wissahickon area for a 2 hour hike. Enter RittenhouseTown via the Wissahickon Ave entrance which is a small driveway on the left coming from Fernhill Park. Plan to meet at the Museum around 1230pm.

Wow. would love to do this. What are the penalties for not getting there at 9am? Demerits? I used to be 15 minutes away. It's now an hour and 1/2 drive for me. :/
